How these literacies might be used?
- Fruit and Serial(literature)(ACARA, 2014a): get the children to infer at the beginning of one of the stories, at the middle and at the end. What questions have the children thought of? Can they justify their inference?
- (ICT) Inquiry (ACARA, 2014c): After the text, get the children to research Sudan, what is a refugee? why are there refugees from Sudan?
- (Visual Arts) Art (ACARA, 2014b): Once the students have developed some background knowledge, ask them to complete a collage representing refugees and the countries they come from.
- English (Literacy: Creating texts)(ACARA, 2014a): have the students to write a diary of a refugee child. What would they be feeling? what would they be missing?
